Belinda Hazlerigg is a landscape artist and printmaker, living and working in the Yorkshire Wolds. She creates lively mixed media artworks, rich in mark making and layered media. Her work is created either directly on site, ‘en plein air,’ or sketches are brought back to her Wolds studio and developed into larger pieces.
This exhibition is a collection of paintings recording the seasons and ever changing weather of the Yorkshire Wolds landscape, together with the Yorkshire and Cornish coast.
Having graduated with a degree in illustration in 1984, she focussed on working freelance, documenting the life of rural Yorkshire through drawing, painting and printmaking, before building a long career as a successful art teacher and course leader at Hull College.
Since leaving teaching in 2016 she has set up her own business and gallery, ‘Plum Tree Studio,’ based in the Wolds village of Huggate. Here she runs workshops in painting and printmaking, together with developing her own artwork. She exhibits widely and has work in private collections both nationally and internationally.
