Ian Chalk Quartet: The Music of Miles Davis

Ian Chalk is a well known trumpet player around these parts. As well as performing in bands such as Huge, Firebird Quartet or with previous guest Kate Peters, Ian is Director of York Music Forum; nurturing young talent and leading ensembles to great success, performing at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall. His work as a composer, educator, recorder and trumpet player has led to him being one of the most in demand players in the scene, but you can still find him playing fire at regular jazz jams around Yorkshire. Ian has put together a quartet for this special show paying tribute to one of Jazz’s greatest legends: Miles Davis.
