Celebrate International Women’s Day with Two New Heritage Performances
Join us for a special double bill created through Thunk-It Theatre’s 25/5 Project, a National Lottery Heritage funded programme developed with Burnby Hall Gardens, Pocklington Arts Centre, and Wolds Wonders.
These brand new performances shine a light on a local woman who shaped Pocklington’s past, brought to life through the creativity of young people, adults with learning disabilities, and our community heritage partners.
Act 1: Breaking Ground
Created and performed by Wolds Wonders, a drama group for adults with learning disabilities. This heartfelt and humorous piece shares stories of the building of Burnby Hall Gardens.
Act 2: Burnby in Bloom
Performed by Thunk-It Youth Theatre. Three age groups (4 to 18) join forces to present a vibrant and imaginative retelling of the history of Burnby Hall Gardens.
Come and enjoy a celebration of community storytelling, local heritage, and original performance created by the people of Pocklington and the surrounding area..
This programme was kindly funded by National Lottery Heritage, the David Ford Trust, Two Ridings Community Fund, I AM Fund, Do It For East Yorkshire, the Williams Family Fund, and the Friends of Pocklington Arts Centre.
