A Christmas Sparkle at Pocklington Arts Centre
Pocklington Arts Centre has unveiled the first details of its brand-new Christmas production, A Christmas Sparkle, coming this December.
Marking the fourth collaboration between the arts centre and playwright Elizabeth Godber, the latest show from the team behind previous Christmas hits Jack Frost’s Christmas Wish and Jingle All The Way promises more festive fun than ever before.
Packed with catchy tunes, local references and festive magic, the story follows fairy friends Sparkle and Fitz as they set off on a fun-filled adventure to find the Sugar Plum Fairy and discover Sparkle’s true destiny.
In the fairy grotto, everyone has a role and knows what they have to do: from the secretary fairies to the tooth fairies, the Christmas tree fairies and even the famous Sugar Plum Fairy! Everyone that is, except for Sparkle... she doesn't know what type of fairy she is!
Elizabeth Godber, who has written the show, said: “For the last four years Pocklington Arts Centre has created something really special with their children's Christmas shows, and I am so honoured and delighted to be writing 'A Christmas Sparkle' this year, this time with new director Kelly as producer. It is set to be a magical fairy adventure, full of music, jokes and a whole lot of Christmas Sparkle, and I simply cannot wait for December!”
A Christmas Sparkle will run from Friday 11 December to Thursday 24 December.
Early bird tickets, available at last year’s prices, go on sale at 10am on Friday 11 September.
