Christmas Show 2026 – Casting Call

Christmas Show 2026 – Casting Call

Pocklington Arts Centre is casting for its 2026 Christmas production, a brand new festive family show written by Elizabeth Godber.

We are seeking two versatile, playful and highly skilled actors to join the company for this year’s Christmas production.

Set in a magical world with a fairytale feel, The production will be a new festive family show full of warmth, humour, magic and heart, created for children, families and school audiences, and forming a central part of Pocklington Arts Centre’s Christmas programme.

Writer: Elizabeth Godber
Producer: Pocklington Arts Centre
Director: Jane Thornton

SPARKLE:

Sparkle is a fairy who has never quite fitted in. Warm-hearted, exuberant and gloriously unconventional, she is always a little too loud, too excitable and too much for the world around her. She spends her days assisting the Christmas Tree Fairies, but this Christmas Sparkle may finally be ready to step out from the sidelines, embrace what makes her different, and find her own path.

Essential skills:

FITZ:

Fitz is a secretary fairy and Sparkle’s best friend. Efficient, loyal and quick-thinking, he keeps the grotto running smoothly and is the person everyone turns to when something needs sorting fast. Beneath his capable exterior, Fitz has warmth, humour and a genuine affection for Sparkle, often acting as her grounding force in the chaos around them. Multi-role, including playing the Sugar Plum Fairy and a range of other characters across the production.
