Heritage Open Day

Sat 7 Sep 10.00am

This special event will offer a unique opportunity to discover the diverse range of events hosted by Pocklington Arts Centre as well as a chance to explore the building and its rich heritage.

The day will start with an all-ages craft workshop from 10am to 11am, where participants can unleash their creativity and contribute to the ‘Creating a Storm’ project, making snowflakes for an art installation inspired by the Christmas production of ‘Jack Frost’s Christmas Wish’.

Guided tours will follow at 11am and 1pm, taking in the recently renovated auditorium and offering a glimpse behind the scenes, with a chance to see the dressing rooms used by the numerous stars who have graced the stage over the years.

Andrew Sefton, from the Pocklington and District Local History Group, will be hosting a heritage table until 1pm, showcasing a variety of local historical artifacts. Town trail maps will also be available for those interested in exploring more of the town’s history.

Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy the current art exhibition, Noticing by Millie McCallum, in the studio space where refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Pocklington Arts Centre Café until 2.30pm.

Booking is not required and entry to the event is free so please do come along.
