A fantastic workshop opportunity with Thread and Press CIC. In this exciting session, you will learn how to create an image of a place or scene using paint and free-motion machine embroidery. Experiment with this fantastic technique by lowering the feed dogs and learning to ‘draw’ with the sewing machine to create a wonderful artwork for your wall. Bring your own images of places to work from (7 inch diameter max) or use one of ours. Holly is an experienced artist and teacher and will show you how to plan your artwork, create simple paint layers and add layers of free-motion embroidery. Great for beginners, even if you haven’t done any painting or machine embroidery before. Not used a sewing machine before? No problem, Holly will show you how to set up and you will be sewing in no time. There will be step-by step instruction, support and plenty of hot drinks. All materials and equipment are provided, including sewing machines. Just bring your own lunch.
