Permanent Role
Hours: 30hrs/wk
Reporting to: Venue Manager
Deadline for applications: 31st October 2023
An opportunity has arisen to work with the Team at Pocklington Arts Centre to define and deliver a new role - overseeing our Technical/Operational requirements. This opportunity comes at an exciting time in our development of the ongoing sustainability of the Venue with funding investment secured to upgrade sound, lighting, and electronic systems to compete in an increasingly sophisticated digital market.
Due to the nature of the role, working hours will reflect the artistic programme. It is anticipated that hours will be delivered within the Venue over 3-4 days/week, although there may be scope for occasional remote working. Most events will be evenings and weekends. Overtime is unpaid - we operate a TOIL system.
We work as a close-knit team and pride ourselves on flexibility and a supportive, nurturing working environment.
Person Specification:
You should demonstrate considerable experience working as an Event Technician – having a broad range of skills across sound and lighting. Ideally, you will be adaptable to work on different desks and have competency in basic electronics to trouble-shoot and solve compatibility issues for incoming artists.
A background in music sound/lighting production is required. Experience of working within a theatre environment is desirable.
A good understanding of managing electrical capacity and a commitment to regular maintenance and housekeeping to ensure safety and longevity of equipment.
